Centipede became an almost instant blockbuster when it debuted in arcades in the early ‘80s. It’s also one of history’s first video games to be co-created by a woman. Programmer Dona Bailey teamed up with designer Ed Logg to work on the original game for Atari. Since then, Centipede has been ported to several home video game consoles and PCs. It also spawned a sequel titled Millipede in 1982.
